For the rug, I finished one end with a deep red fringe and the other with bright yellow. I love that little contrast — it feels playful, bold and very Billie.”

Introducing RUGS! Two of my original works have been re-envisioned as 100% bamboo silk rugs, each hand-knotted by master artisans in India and produced by Zouzou Rugs under the GoodWeave and Care & Fair programs.
When I started thinking about rugs, I knew I wanted them to feel special and one of a kind, much like an artwork, so only eight rugs have been produced in total. The craftsmanship and materials were incredibly important to me, but from a design perspective, I also knew the paintings needed to have bold enough colour and mark making to translate from artwork into textile.
Each rug is made entirely by hand, in very limited quantities and to the highest quality. RUGS! brings together art, material and traditional craftsmanship, and reflects a commitment to considered and responsible production.
