The Billie Rug, one of my original works, reimagined as a hand-knotted bamboo silk rug and crafted entirely by hand by master artisans in India. Produced by Zouzou Rugs under the GoodWeave and Care & Fair programs.
“The Billie Rug is especially sentimental to me, as I painted the original work just after losing my first dog Billie, who I loved with all my heart. The bright, colourful palette was really a response to her colourful life.
For the rug, I finished one end with a deep red fringe and the other with bright yellow. I love that little contrast, it feels playful, bold and very Billie.”
