Bang & Olufsen x Holly Terry
Art of the A9
I was invited to collaborate with Bang & Olufsen on a limited-edition Art of the A9 speaker to celebrate the opening of their new Sydney flagship store, alongside an original artwork to be exhibited in the space.
The juxtaposition between my playful work and Bang & Olufsen’s refined aesthetic felt refreshing and encouraged me to be more experimental in my approach. Moving away from my much-loved motifs, I explored a more abstract direction through bold, expressive mark-making and a considered palette of reds and blues.
The final work, Everything in Its Right Place, felt like the perfect meeting between Bang & Olufsen and me, translating beautifully onto the A9 speaker and into the store itself.
“I’m always more interested in capturing the feeling of living than illustrating a specific story.
My work has always been about creating art that becomes part of everyday life and I think that Bang & Olufsen approaches design in the same way.”
